A Holistic Approach to Home Birth Midwifery in Austin, Texas

I’m Meagan, a licensed midwife and founder of Noble Roots Midwifery. My work is grounded in the belief that pregnancy and birth are significant, transformative experiences that deserve time, attention, and respect.

Through relationship-centered care, I support families with clear information, open dialogue, and a deep respect for physiologic birth. I approach this work as a partnership, one where your autonomy is honored, your questions are welcomed, and your experience is supported with both knowledge and care.

My Path to Midwifery

Before entering the birth world, I worked as a mechanical engineer from 2003–2020. I valued the analytical and problem-solving aspects of that work, but over time I felt drawn toward something more directly centered on people and meaningful life experiences.

In 2020, I began exploring health coaching as a way to move in that direction. Around that same time, a friend shared that she was moving to Los Angeles to become a doula, and something about that immediately resonated with me. I enrolled in doula training later that year.

By 2021, I was attending births and supporting families postpartum. Through that work, it quickly became clear that I wanted to deepen my role in supporting families during pregnancy and birth. Being present for those early experiences and witnessing the way care was offered during such a significant time led me to pursue midwifery.

I enrolled in midwifery school in 2022 and completed my training in 2025. Through both my education and hands-on experience, I developed an approach to care that blends thoughtful, evidence-informed decision-making with a deep respect for physiologic birth and the innate wisdom of the body.

My background in engineering continues to shape how I practice. I value understanding the “why” behind things, working through complex information, and helping families feel clear and confident in their decisions. At the same time, this work has grounded me in the importance of presence, relationship, and trust.

Noble Roots Midwifery feels like a mix of both of my life paths, blending holistic, evidence-informed care with a relationship-centered approach so families feel supported in a way that is both thoughtful and deeply personal.

Life Outside of Birth Work

At home, I’m a mother.

That lived experience has shaped how I show up in my work, offering care that is not only informed, but grounded in an understanding of how important it is to feel supported, respected, and cared for during this time.

As my children grow into a more independent stage, it has also opened up space for me to be more available to the families I serve, while still staying deeply rooted in my role as their mom.
