Birth is one of life's most profound transitions. Preparing for it should feel personal, empowering, and deeply rooted in trust - not fear.
Whether you're planning a home birth, birth center birth, or simply hoping for a more physiologic, unmedicated birth experience, thoughtful childbirth education can help you approach labor with greater knowledge, confidence, and peace. The Rooted Birth Intensive is a personalized, four-hour childbirth education experience designed to help you approach birth with confidence, practical skills, and a deep understanding of physiologic birth.
Flexible Childbirth Education
Life is busy, and preparing for birth shouldn't add unnecessary stress to your calendar.
Instead of a traditional multi-week childbirth class series, we offer flexible private and small-group birth preparation sessions that can be scheduled around your family's needs. Sessions are typically held in your home or another mutually agreed-upon location, creating a relaxed environment where questions and conversation are always welcome.
Birth Intensive (4 Hours)
This interactive session focuses on preparing you and your birth partner for labor, birth, and the early postpartum period through discussion, demonstrations, and hands-on practice.
By the end of your Birth Intensive, you'll understand...
The physiology of labor and birth
Signs of labor and what to expect
When and how to call your birth team
Comfort measures for every stage of labor
Position changes and movement during labor
Creating a supportive birth environment
The role of the birth partner
Common variations of normal labor
Making informed decisions if birth takes an unexpected turn
The first hours after birth
Time for your individual questions and concerns
Optional Breastfeeding & Postpartum Session (2 Hours)
Families who would like additional preparation may also schedule a separate session focused on the postpartum transition.
Topics may include:
Breastfeeding fundamentals
Normal newborn behavior
The first days and weeks after birth
Maternal recovery and healing
Building a realistic postpartum support plan
Preparing your family for life with a newborn
Learn Together
If you have another expecting family you'd enjoy learning alongside, we're happy to teach two or three families together. Small groups often create wonderful conversation while still allowing plenty of individualized attention and discussion.
Who Are These Sessions For?
These sessions are ideal for first-time parents as well as experienced families who want a refresher before welcoming another baby. While our philosophy is rooted in physiologic birth and aligns especially well with families planning home or birth center births, the principles we teach can benefit anyone seeking a deeper understanding of the normal birth process.
Meet The Rooted Transitions Team
Rooted Transitions was created by Katie Robison and Meagan Noble to offer childbirth education that is evidence-based, deeply rooted in the physiology of birth, and centered on preparing families with practical knowledge and confidence. Sessions are most often led by Katie, with Meagan joining as her midwifery schedule allows. No matter who is teaching, you'll experience the same grounded philosophy and personalized approach that inspired Rooted Transitions from the very beginning.
What Families Are Saying

MELANIE

"The class was fantastic! Really thorough information that left me with a ton more confidence in not only my decision to have a home birth, but in my naturally created ability as a woman to give birth. Plus, I feel even more secure knowing my husband is well-informed and prepared as well. Thank you!!"
BELLA
Cedar Park, TX
"I’m so glad I signed up for Rooted Transitions! There was such great information and various helpful topics for during and after pregnancy, I loved the explanation of the process, the charts, and learning how the body works. It helped me better understand what was happening and surrender that much easier. I can’t recommend the class enough, especially for a first time mom like myself!"
